EVER WONDERED WHAT IT WOULD
BE LIKE TO LIVE IN THE SIXTIES?

Well now you can, at least for one summer weekend in Fleetwood, Lancashire that is with the esplanade being full of period cars, scooters and motorbikes from the fifties and sixties just like it would have been back in the day and all set in a classic backdrop of a Victorian seaside resort and fishing village.

To make the event even more interesting at the heart we will be featuring a sixties village, set in the gardens of the Marine Hall an Edwardian building which is aptly situated on the Esplanade itself. This area will feature everything that was great about the sixties from TV and Film to Art, Fashion, Music and News focusing on the great achievements made in this iconic era. It will also play host to several live bands, go go dancing girls and a spirit of the sixties fashion show as well as featuring stalls dedicated to 60s merchandise from clothing to literature and lots in between.
This event will truly be one for all the family and to make this even more so inside the village there will be a sixties children’s playground so youngsters can experience how their parents or maybe grandparents amused themselves with the toys and games that commonly featured in a children’s playground of the sixties.

With the amount of vehicles we are expecting we will of course be organising one monumental ride/drive out where onlookers will be treated to a spectacular array of 50s and 60s vehicles touring the surrounding areas with of course the Minis leading the way. Shortly after this we will be judging the best vehicles overall as well as in their individual classes plus lots more surprises besides.

But the event doesn’t stop there as starting on Friday night their will be over four rooms of entertainment featuring different styles of sixties music from Pop, Soul, Rock’n’Roll, Ska & Reggae, R&B, Surf and of course Merseybeat with bands and DJs catering for each genre, literally something for everyone with more to follow so make sure you subscribe to our newsletter so we can keep you informed of all the latest happenings.
There is also a possibility of a sixties film theatre being part of the event but this is as of yet unconfirmed but more about this as and when we get it.
The event pays tribute to the birth of the sixties in a truly unique way celebrating sixties icons such as the classic mini car as well as that other famous Mini of the period... the Mini skirt!
Certainly an event not to be missed.
